Biography

Anatoly Aksakov was born on November 28, 1957, in Yermolayevo village, Kumertaussky region, Republic of Bashkortostan.

In 1983 graduated from the Moscow State University (specialized in economy).

From 1986 to 1997, Mr. Aksakov held various positions at the N.I. Uliyanov Chuvash State University's Institute of Economics, Finance and Law, including senior lecturer, assistant professor of the economic theory and market department, and deputy director. He is also recognized as a professor.

From 1995 to 1997 Anatoly Aksakov worked as director of a joint-stock commercial bank.

From 1997 to 2000 Mr. Aksakov held the positions of Chuvash Republic deputy chairman of the government and economics minister.

In 2000 Mr. Aksakov was elected to the State Duma. He is the deputy chairman of the economic policy and entrepreneurship committee, chairman of the sub-committee for macroeconomic and investment policy, and deputy chairman of the investor rights protection commission. He belongs to the deputies' group People's Deputy. He is also the deputy chairman of the People's Party of the Russian Federation.

Mr. Aksakov is the author of 50 research works, including Chuvash Republic's Transition to the Market Economy. He has been the initiator of a number of bills aimed at creating a more favorable investment climate in Russia.

Anatoly Aksakov  has a doctoral degree in economy.

Mr. Aksakov is married and has two sons.
